Obituary of Russell Owen Dorrough

Russell Owen Dorrough, age 84, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, January 02, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mr. Dorrough was born, June 19, 1933, in Henderson County, Texas to William Franklin and Winnie Pearl Denman Dorrough. Russell served in the U. S. Air Force for over 23 years and later retired after 21 years from the Red River County Soil and Water Conservation District.  Russ graduated from East Texas State University in 1978.  He loved people and life and was very active in his community, serving in RSVP and the PRIDE organization in Clarksville.  Mr. Dorrough married Pat Buchanan and both were members of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clarksville.  He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Quincy Dorrough, Mary Ella Simmons, Winnie Pearl Mullenax, Lena Mae Camp, Oletha McConnell and John Dorrough.

Father Ambrose Chanappa will recite a Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Father Ambrose Chanappa officiating.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel with Rev. Jack Holt officiating.  Burial and graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018, in the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery with Military Honors.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Buchanan Dorrough of Clarksville; 1 son, John F. Dorrough and wife, Dawn of Commerce; 2 daughters, Marybeth Dorrough of Arlington and Barbara Huey and husband, Keith of Pontiac, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Allyson Stinnett, Caroline Huey, Annika Huey and Geoffrey Owen Dorrough; 1 sister, Mary Joe Fraqueiro of Florida; a brother, William Roy Dorrough of Mansfield; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the P.R.I.D.E. organization in Clarksville, C/O Susan Hughston, 602 N. Walnut, St. Clarksville, Texas 75426.
