Obituary of Margie Storey Grant

Margie Storey Grant, age 98, of the English Community, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, in San Marcos, Texas, where she had lived for the last four years. Mrs. Grant was born November 19, 1913, in Denton, the first child of Wilmer and Verna Williams Storey. She lived most of her life in English and she taught at Avery High School for almost thirty years. Margie was a member of the Williams Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant Grant and her sister, Mildred Baker; a brother-in-law, William Grant; a nephew, Tommy Baker; and a niece, Mary Anne Preston. Survivors include her son, Jonathan Grant; her sister, Frances Williams; her sister-in-law, Louise Brown; her brother-in-law, Marvin Baker; and a number of nieces and nephews and many of her cherished students. Visitation and remarks will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Williams Chapel United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the English Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Chris Francis, Tad Meredith, Carl Paris, Mike Pickering, Bill Preston, Joe Grant Preston and Kevin Sanborn.
