Obituary of Harold Dee McLeroy

Harold Dee McLeroy, age 83, of Annona, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at his residence. His favorite past times were hog trapping, catfishing, squirrel hunting and being in the outdoors with friends. He was a retired mechanic from Red River Army Depot and a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He was born in the Lydia Community of Red River County on August 3, 1927, to Mose and Pearl Taylor McLeroy. He married Venita Peacock on August 4, 1949. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, in Lindeman Chapel with Rev. Deannie Lambert, Rev. James Brown and Rev. Jimmy Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday night from 6 to 7 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include a son, James McLeroy and wife Lori of Detroit; a daughter, Paula Peek and husband Barry of Annona; his grandchildren, Darin and Blaine Peek and Jamie Sue McLeroy; two step-grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; a brother and sister in law, Billy and Mildred Peacock of Paris. Pallbearers are Bill Minter, Wesley Minter, Gary Baird, Brody Baird, Jimmy Notley, Nick Adams, Rickey Baird, Roger Baird. Honorary Pallbearers are A.B. Baird, Johnny Brewer, Glenn Stewert, Murphy Bowen, Alan Branch and Herbert Harmon. Memorials may be made to the Boxelder Cemetery Association at 11864 FM 909, Bogata, Texas 75417.
