Red River County has lost a great citizen with Mary's passing. Each of us who knew her and appreciated her for all she had done for Clarksville and Red River County, are deeply sorry to know that she has left us. Without her leading the cause for the preservation of the county's history, much work would have gone undone, and priceless documents and artifacts would no longer exist. Such a legacy that she leaves behind. It is an honor to have been one of her many friends.

There are no words to express how heart-broken I am. I should be rejoicing because I know Mary is with Herman now. She was such a good friend(and more), even though I know at times, she felt like strangling me! I guess sometimes we don't realize how much we love someone until they are gone. I'll see you again someday Mary, but until then, I'll just be "Running the halls"!!

The first time I met Mary 20 years ago, she helped my Uncle trace back our roots to a 3-great generational relative who turned out to be buried in Clarksville Cemetery. Since then, I had grown to love Mary and her wonderful family. She always made time for others and took pride in all her endeavors. I'm very blessed to have spent numerous Holidays with Mary in addition to shopping her wonderful Donoho. I last shared time with Mary on Feb. 7th hearing Gary Porterfield and Chris Evetts jazz-it away performing in Dallas. I'm so happy I came out for that event...and her hug. God Bless you!

I am so sorry to hear that Mary has left our midst. She was a fine lady and will be missed by all who knew her, which includes her many auction/estate sale companions. A familiar face in our town, she will join those of us who have gone on and are awaiting her there. We offer condolences from the bottoms of our hearts to her dear family and wish them well.
