Obituary of Dorothy Ann Pearce

Dorothy Ann Pearce, age 83, of Clarksville, passed away, Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Clarksville Nursing Center.  Mrs. Pearce was born April 7, 1935, in the Manchester Community the daughter of Marvin Daniel and Willie Elizabeth Nailling Whittle.  She married James Earl “Pete” Pearce on September 26, 1955, in Greenville.  Ann was a 1953 graduate of Detroit High School and later graduated from East Texas State University in 1956. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration in 1967.  Ann taught business, typing, short hand and accounting in both Dimple and Clarksville schools.  She also served as the Tiger Claw Sponsor for many years, working tirelessly to preserve memories for all students.  Past students would often express their gratitude for the typing skills she taught them and the opportunities that skill gave them in their careers.  Ann was always on the lookout for individuals that she could help or encourage.  Many have taken steps to complete their education because of her encouragement.  Others have been recipients of her notes, phone calls, sewing skills, hospitality, spiritual encouragement and unbelievable meals. Family was most important to her.  She enjoyed family gatherings and made extra efforts to keep family members connected.
