Obituary of Jo Ann Stinson West
Jo Ann Stinson West, age 69, of Bogata, passed away March 4, 2018, at her residence.
Jo Ann was born June 25, 1948, in Avery to Joe Wilburn and Mary Frances Pool Stinson. Jo Ann received the Queen of Country Music when she was 24 and made 3 record deals. She also played at Billy Bobs and opened for several big country singers as well as played drums for Mel Street. Jo Ann helped out in her community and volunteered at charity benefits. But, most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her son, Joe Edward West; 2 brothers, Dennis Norman Stinson and Mickeal Keefe Stinson and her sister, Betty Lee Stinson Miller.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Wes Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son. Tony Lynn West and wife, Margaret of Bogata; 2 daughters, Rhonda Renee West of Hughes Springs and Stephenie Simpler and husband, Jimmy of Hughes Springs; her sister, Mary Stinson Shipp of Texarkana; her brother Jimmy Lynn Stinson of Dallas; 15 grandchildren, Timothy, Taylor, Camey, Dillon, Sadie, Tara, Whittney, Brittney, Preston, Padggett, Kassi, Mersades, Chelsie, Michael and Maddison and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
