Obituary of Howard Neal Warthan

Howard Neal Warthan, age 64, of Paris, passed away, Monday, February 26, 2018, at Dubuis Hospital of Paris.  Neal was born, July 17, 1953, in Clarksville to Ernest Alfred and Mary Edna Roden Warthan.  He received his Bachelor's of Education from East Texas State University and was a member of the Garland Chapel United Methodist Church.  Neal proudly served in the U.S. Marines and was stationed on the U.S.S. Iwo Jima.    His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John “Cap” Roden; his parents; a brother, John Warthan; and a nephew, Adrain Townsend preceded him in death. 

There will be no formal visitation for Mr. Warthan.

Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Warthan Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Terry Rosson, Larry Emery, Charles Crawford, Bobby Lipe, Gary Moreland and Billy Moore.

Survivors include 3 sisters, Ernesta Crawford, Estelle Warthan and Anne Townsend all of Paris; 2 nephews, Charles Crawford and Terry Rosson; 1 niece, Mary Anne Rosson; 5 great nieces; 3 great nephews; and a brother-in-law, Gary Moreland of Florida.
