Obituary of Evelyn Kay Draper

Evelyn Kay Mitchell Draper, age 71, of Clarksville, passed away, Friday, January 12, 2018, in Athens.  Evelyn was born, August 29, 1946, in Clarksville to Martin Bernard "Big Daddy" and Mertha Corin "Granny" Stewart Mitchell.  Evelyn was a member of the “RR” Cowboy Church.  She was a retired Bail Bondsman and Rodeo Secretary and traveled the world working rodeos and bull ridings. She never met a stranger and loved her family fiercely.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her husband, Butch Draper; and a brother, Bruce Wayne Mitchell preceded her in death. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018, at the “RR” Cowboy Church with Rev. Tracy Williams and Rev. Randy Bird officiating.  Burial will follow in Tuggle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers are Johnny Hutson, Warren Carter, Terry Nailling, Greg Jackson, Dusty Springfield and Joe DePriest.

Honorary Pallbearers are Kenny Lewis, Al Wolfington, Gene Pool, Billy Mitchell and Mike Pascoe.

The family will receive friends and family Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include 1 son, Jim Draper of Chandler; 1 daughter, Cresha Foster and husband, Rex of Chandler; 2 sisters, Becky Wolfington and husband, Al of Clarksville and Linda Diane Pool and husband, Gene of Clarksville; 1 brother, Billy Mitchell of Clarksville; and 5 grandchildren, Chip Foster, Draper Foster, Reiney Draper, Josie Draper
