Obituary of Carmelita Joyce Rodriguez

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. Carmelita Joyce Long Rodriguez, age, 74, of Clarksville, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Carmelita was born on January 10, 1936, to Thurman and Beulah Long. She was a member of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church. In May of 1972 she married Freddy Rodriguez. She was a homemaker as well as a devoted wife and mother. Faith and family were always first and brought the most enjoyment to her life. Carmelita was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Shorty Long; two sisters, Wanda and Linda Long; one son, Anthony Holder and one grandson, Marc Holder. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2010, at the New Haven Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Simons and Rev. James Hinkle officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the New Haven Missionary Baptist Church. Pallbearers are Racey Long, Chase Long, Jason Hardison, Dustin Long, Levi Long, Raymond Long and Rickey Long. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 38 years and 4 months, Freddy Rodriguez of Clarksville; three daughters, Sheila Holder, Sherry Rose and Neicy Herrington all of Clarksville; two step sons, Freddy Rodriguez, Jr. and Lucas Rodriguez and wife Barbara all of Rockport, Texas; two step daughters, Naomi Rodriguez of Rockport, Texas and Priscilla Salmas and husband Edward of Lake Jackson, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jason Hardison, Chris Holder, Elisha Hardison, Adrienne Hardison, Meagan Davidson, Michela Patrick, Morgan Herrington and Hannah Herrington; fourteen great grandchildren, Chelsey, Isabella, Justiss, Joseph, Presley, Jessica, Dalton, Shane, Chris, Paxton, Lyndon, Riley, Christian and Canden; one great-great grandchild, eleven step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
