Obituary of Dorothy Black

~~Dorothy Black, age 91, of Avery, passed away, Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Clarksville Nursing Center.

Mrs. Black was born March 24, 1926, to Fred and Polly Fuller Jones.  She married her husband, Douglas Black, December 14, 1943.  Dorothy loved to read books and crochet.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family.  Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband; her son, Fred Black and her granddaughter, Kathy Lynn McClanahan.

There will be no formal visitation.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017, in Savannah Cemetery with Bro. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include her sons, Marvin Black and wife, Phillis of Avery and Tommy Black of Avery; her daughter, Kathy McClanahan of Avery; grandchildren, Kittiele, Heather, Kevin, Jason, Michael and Jessica; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
