Obituary of Margaret "Sis" Cavender

~~Margaret “Sis” Cavender, age 101, of Detroit, passed away, Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Clarksville Nursing Center.  Mrs. Cavender was a loving mother and grandmother.  She loved cooking for her family and her specialty was Chocolate Pie!  Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Cavender; a daughter, Betty Smith; a grandson, Jackey Smith; 6 brothers; 4 sisters; 4 son’s-in-law; and 2 daughter’s-in- law.

Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are, Malcom Weemes, Michael Smith, Eric Summar, James Smith, Shane Cavender and Kenny Snodgrass.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include 3 sons, Walter Cavender of Paris, Travis Cavender and friend, Vickie of Cedarville and Rickey Cavender and wife, Arnita of Lovelady; 4 daughters, Shirley Croft of Wills Point, Fay Summar of Whitesboro, Nancy Smith of Detroit and Jane Weemes and husband, Curtis of Negley; 1 sister, Christine Sutton of Irving; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
