Obituary of Rhonda Renee Garrison
~~On October 14, 2017, Rhonda Renee’ Garrison, age 58 of Avery, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Aunt and YaYa, passed from this world to her Heavenly home. Family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday,October 21, 2017, at 10:30 AM in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Roddy Jackson and Bro. Matthew Butler officiating. Interment will be at English Cemetery immediately following the service officiated by Bro. James Brown. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are: Kane Alsup, Garde Bowles, Kort Bowles, Cooper Christophersen, Twister Harvey, and Jake Kelsoe. Honorary Pallbearers are The Avery High School Graduating Class of 1977.
Rhonda was born on March 18, 1959, in Dallas. She was the daughter of Dave and Mona Thomas. After graduating from Avery High School, she pursued a career in Cosmetology and briefly worked at Jerry’s Hair Center in Clarksville. She then started her career in the medical field as a Phlebotomist at Red River General Hospital. From there she became a medical clinician for Dr. Ravi Kumar for a period of 7 years. In 1998, she furthered her education by becoming a Registered Nurse. She then spent the next 16 years of her life dedicated to Christus St. Michaels in Texarkana. She was a member of Avery Missionary Baptist Church. She married Ted Garrison on June 16, 1990, in Annona. Rhonda was a longtime, well respected and loved resident of this community and will be dearly missed.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father; David Gene Thomas; stepfather, Raymond Miller; grandparents, Olin and Hazel Thomas, and Bertie Willett. She is survived by her husband, Ted Garrison; mother, Mona Thomas-Miller; daughter, Lindsay Harp and husband Brett of Avery; son: Tanner Garrison of Denton, and girlfriend, Katie Holder of Corinth, special granddaughter, Emery Grace Harp of Avery; brothers, Russell Stewart and wife, Suzie of Texarkana, Lance Thomas and wife, Gerri of Scurry, sister, Dari Hefner of Highland Village, TX; Extended siblings: Jon and Julie Miller of Rickman, Tennessee, Keith and Kathy Ray of Rickman, Tennessee, David and Kathy Miller of Rickman, Tennessee, aunt, Judith Anderson of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
