Obituary of James Bedford Whiteman
James Bedford Whiteman, Jr. “Jimbo”, of Como, formerly of Clarksville, passed away, Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his residence. Jimbo was born February 28, 1944, in Clarksville to James Bedford and Nellie Davis Whiteman. He was a very giving man and family always came first. Jimbo was a member of the First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy. He married Laticia Stone on January 28, 1966.
Survivors include his wife, Laticia Whiteman of Como; sons, James Beford Whiteman, III and wife Lori of Como and Juddson Stone Whiteman and wife, Lisa of Dallas; sister, Charlotte Kornell of Clarksville; grandchildren, Preston Kohl Whiteman and Wade Reid Whiteman; 3 great grandchildren, Avah Jay Whiteman, Preslie Kylar Whiteman and Ridge Wayne Whiteman; step grandchildren, Bryant Christopher Doebbler, Alyssa Renee Taylor, Travis Austin Taylor, Chelsea Nicole Lessing and Charles Nicholas Eliazondo; step great grandchildren, Josie Marie Taylor, Benjamin Ford Taylor, Logan Addison Hover and Kynzie Rain Hover; a mother in law, Jeanette Fletcher Stone of Sulphur Springs; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Madras Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Fuzzy Bishop, Darrell Gentry, Kohl Whiteman, Jon Ussery, Derrek Harred, Lee Pogue, Todd Trammell, Wade Whiteman and Jeff Vititow.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Clark and Morris McWhorter.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
