Obituary of Mark Asher
Mark Asher, age 75, of Annona, passed away, Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Asher was a retired law enforcement officer for both Red River County and the City of Clarksville. He was born December 26, 1941, in Red River County to Harvey Gordon and Vernie Lackey Asher. Mark was a member of the Assembly of God Church and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. His parents; a sister, Mary Jo Greer; a brother, Loyd Asher; and a granddaughter, Crystal Day Kindrick preceded him in death.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Wilson Weed officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Christopher Asher, Michael Deaton, Johnny Ferguson, Joshua Ferguson, Charles Taylor and Thomas Taylor.
Honorary Pallbearer is Gary Moore.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Donna Wilson Asher of Annona; 1 son, Gordon Asher of Annona; 3 daughters, Tammy Taylor of Amarillo, Donna G. Asher of Clarksville and Wendy Davis of Idabel, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Shirley Stokes and husband, Cleburne of Friona and Gale Deaton of Friona; 1 brother, Harvey Asher of Annona; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
