Obituary of Gloria Colleen Holmes

Gloria Colleen Holmes, age 87, of Avery, passed away January 22, 2017, at her residence. Colleen was born July 17, 1929, in Bismarck, AR, To Jesse Forrest and Flossie Goodman Broadway. Colleen was a member of Avery Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved to read and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Jack Holmes; 3 brothers, Marvin, Darrell and Joseph Broadway and one sister, Maxine Yates. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. January 24, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev Roddy Jackson officiating. Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Ryan cemetery in Cleveland, Tx. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Ann Gordon and husband, David Anthony of Avery; 2 sisters, Elnora Josephin Hoke of Houston and Mary Jane Ross of Avery; 2 Grandchildren, Shannon Wayne Hall of Florida and Stacy Lynn Hall of Anna; 2 great grandchildren, Jordan Pond and Hudson Hall and numerous nieces and nephews.
