Obituary of Gary Elmer Davidson

Gary Elmer Davidson, age 64, of Avery, passed away, Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Davidson was born August 28, 1951, in Lubbock to Elmer Roscoe and Ruth Elaine Mauldin Davidson. Gary was the owner of several service stations in the area. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Kathy Davidson and Carolyn Dagenhart; and 1 brother, Michael Davidson. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Cloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are, Jarod Davidson, Wesley Davidson, Kristopher Posey, Eric Posey, Shawn Posey and John Hawley. Honorary Pallbearer is Cody Thompson. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Paula Lindsey Davidson of Avery; 2 sons, Gary Paul Davidson and wife, Julie of Clarksville and Allen Spencer Davidson of Dallas; 2 daughters, Chrissy Thompson and husband, Jerry “Butch” of Avery and Melissa Posey and husband, Clint of Avery; 1 sister, Jamie Gooding of Clarksville; 2 brothers, David Davidson and wife, Carolyn of Bogata and Mark Davidson of Detroit; special friends, Linda Cruce of Avery, Renee Ward of Clarksville and Kenny Carrell of Clarksville; grandchildren, Kristopher Posey, Eric Posey, Shawn Posey, Kaylee Posey, Jarod Davidson, Wesley Davidson, John Hawley, Cody Thompson and Casey Townes; and 10 great grandchildren.
