Obituary of Billie Mae Bynum

Billie Mae Bynum, age 55, of Palestine, formerly of Avery, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Billie was born January 12, 1961, in Mt. Pleasant and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Margie Crouch Gilbert; step-son, Nathan Smith; and a brother, Jerry Don Gilbert. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in West Bowie Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are, Larry Stratton, Kevin Smith, Robert Crouch, Robert Crouch, Jr., Tazz Taylor and Jeffrey Schmitz. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Pete Smith of Palestine; daughter, Margie Larzelere and husband, Brian of Avery; step-son, Kevin Smith and wife, Jennifer of Cypress; sisters, Susie Johnston and husband, Ed of Denison, Kathy Hodgson and husband, Don of Paris; an honorary sister, Georgia Leavell of Palestine; brothers, William “Bill” Gilbert of Avery and Mitchell Gilbert of Rusk; grandchildren, Briana Bridges, Brenden Bridges, Braden Larzelere, Jordan Smith, Austin Smith and Matthew Smith. Billie has several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Bowie Cemetery Association at P.O. Box 43 Avery Tx. 75554.
