Obituary of Doris Igo Wright

Doris Igo Wright passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, in a Duncanville Nursing Home, at the age of 90. Born in Red River County, Texas, on December 22, 1919, to Ivan and Myrtle Parks Igo. Doris grew up on her family’s farm near Clarksville. After attending Paris Junior College she returned to the same rural area to teach school. She married J.D. (Happy) Wright on January 27, 1940. They were married for 67 years until his death in 2007, living most of their married life in Jasper, where they were both members of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. God and family were her passion. Doris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Tahaney and son-in-law Tom of Cedar Hill; a son, Jim and daughter-in-law Suzie of Waco; grandsons, Tom Wright and wife Connie of Austin and John Tahaney and wife Jeni of Dallas; granddaughter, Kathryn Wright of Waco; and a sister, Mildred McCoy of Plano. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Madras Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
