Obituary of Ophelia Compton

Mrs. Ophelia Compton, age 90, of Clarksville died Monday, September 21, 2009 in Regency Healthcare and Rehab Center. Mrs. Compton was born December 28, 1918 in Clarksville to Marshal and Jessie Bledsoe Woods. She was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.L. Compton, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include one son, John Compton and wife Carolyn of New Boston and one daughter, Jo Ann Taylor and husband Wade of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Jona Posey of Clarksville, Shane Compton of Blossom and Jason Taylor of Clarksville; one brother, Billy M. Woods of Clarksville and three great grandchildren. Funeral services are Wednesday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Jack Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Madras cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
