Obituary of Jerry McClanahan

Jerry McClanahan, age 69, of Avery, passed away, Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Medical Center in Plano. Jerry was born September 7, 1943, in the Aikin Grove Community in Red River County to H.L. “Bud” and Flora Mae Burrow McClanahan. He was employed at the Red River Army Depot. He loved the outdoors, the Texas Rangers, his family, friends and was a Ford man. He was also known as a “Jack of all trades”, he could do or fix anything. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Lynn McClanahan. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Black McClanahan of Avery; his son, Michael McClanahan of Avery; his daughter, Jessica Smith and husband Jason of Avery; his grandchildren, Haden, Lainey and Weston McClanahan and Collin and Taylor Smith; and his brother, Charles McClanahan of Clarksville. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
