Obituary of Leon Gill

Leon (Pete) Gill, age 69, of Clarksville, a long time resident of Avery, passed away, Monday, March 15, 2010, in Clarksville Nursing Center. Pete was born June 28, 1940 to Lonzo and Della May Lee Gill in Haworth, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Lonnie Ray Gill; and two sisters, Ruby James and Mary F. Flood. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, in Lindeman Chapel. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Heneritta Cemetery in Avery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill G. Smith, Roger Smith, Travis Smith, Zane Davis and Ronald Walker. Survivors include his wife, Deanne Chambers Gill; daughters, Karen Sue Smith and husband Travis of Avery and Tammy Gill of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; his 3 pugs also survive him, Bubba, Salena and Little Bit.
