Obituary of Carolyn Lewis Salter

Clarksville Funeral Home Carolyn Lewis Salter age 63, of Avery, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. Carolyn was a retired LVN and worked for Various Hospitals in the area. She was born April 22, 1949, in Clarksville to Herman and Mildred Mitchell Lewis. She loved sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. Carolyn was a member of the Avery First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Sheree Childres. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Childress and Rev. Michael Churchill officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6, Saturday afternoon at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Aaron Lewis, Casey Lewis, Clint Lewis, Clay Lewis, Michael Rosson and Michael Burgess. Surviors include a son, Darrin Childres and wife Amanda of Annona; a daughter, Michelle Thorne and husband Kenneth of Grapevine; 2 sisters, Darlene Austin and husband Jackie of Pflugherville and Gayla Rosson of Paris; 2 brothers, Mark Lewis of Leesburg and Kelly Lewis and wife Joyce of LaPorte; and 3 grandchildren, Christina Cargal, Christopher Taylor and Isabella Childres.
