Obituary of Allen W. Vickers
Allen Watkins Vickers, age 90, of Bagwell, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Vickers was born October 2, 1922, in Red River County to Walter and Mae Raulston Vickers. He was a member of the Bagwell Church of Christ and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Sybil A. Dunaway in October of 1946. Mr. Vickers retired after 30 years from the Red River Army Depot.
He was preceded in death by his First wife, Sybil in 1993; and a grandson, Tommy Wayne Vickers.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the Bagwell Church of Christ with Steve Marx and Buddy Eddins officiating. Burial will follow in Detroit Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Larry Vickers, Wayne Gentry, Larry Vickers, Jr., Tommy Moore, Lane Manginell and Ryan Manginell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Friday night at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Marie Manchen Vickers of Bagwell; 1 son, Joe Allen Vickers and wife Becky of New Boston; 1 daughter, Viola Susan Offutt of Tyler; 1 sister, Mineola Medford of Leveland; 1 brother, Willis Vickers of Houston, 3 grandchildren, Jeffery Offutt, Susan Leigh Talbert and Tonya Vickers; and 10 great grandchildren.
