Obituary of A.B. Baird

A.B. “Scooter” Baird, age 77, of Boxelder, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Titus Regional Medical Center. Mr. Baird was born July 14, 1935, in Red River County to Alvin and Mildred Opal Floyd Baird. He married Cynthia Ann Latimer on August 31, 1956, in Annona and was a member of the Boxelder United Methodist Church. He retired from the Annona and Clarksville Independent School districts. Mr. Baird Loved coaching, his family and the Boxelder Community. He loved Ranching and for the last 25 years he and his family owned Baird Brothers Charolais. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Sue Blake, Janet Hausler and Neva Jo Baird; and 2 brothers, Jack Weldon Baird and Oscar Tom Baird. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don “Dink” Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday night at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Michael Baird, Tony Whittle, J.L O'Neal, Tim shimpock, Ernie Hays and Gary Lee Baird. Honorary Pallbearers are Hays Allston, Billy Bratton, Glen Floyd, Paul Coleman, Leon Blake, Eddie Hausler, Bobby Maroney and Tommy Lutes. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Ann Baird of Boxelder; 2 sons, Brody Baird and wife April of Avery and Alvin Brent Baird and wife D’Andra of Boxelder; 1 daughter, Christy Deane and husband David of Little Rock, Arkansas; 2 sisters, Ann Jones and husband Bill and Opal Waller both of DeKalb; 2 brothers in law, Leon Blake of Texarkana, Texas and Eddie Hausler of Boxelder; 1 sister in law, Vara Baird of Avery; and his grandchildren, Courtney, Logan, Katie, Briley, Brianna and Braden Baird and Daniel and Chloe Deane.
