Obituary of Florence Furra

Florence Furra, age 95, of Detroit, passed away Saturday, September 08, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Furra was born June 27, 1917, in Texico, New Mexico to Joseph Hugh and Rebkah Mae Near McLaughlin. She was a member of the Midway Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Permenter and Rev. Michael Topliff officiating. Burial will follow in Detroit Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include a son, J.L. Furra of Detroit; 2 daughters, Barbara Carroll and husband E.L. of Mabank and Ophelia Ragan and husband Roy Lee of Blossom; a brother, Martin McLaughlin and wife Billie of Detroit; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
