Obituary of Sybil Beckham McClanahan

Sybil Beckham McClanahan, age 67, of Clarksville, died, Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana. Sybil was born October 12, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Alford “Buck” and Allie Lee Opal Williams Beckham. She loved her family, friends, was an avid gardener and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She married Charles McClanahan on August 4, 1961, in Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Clark; and 2 nieces, Peggy Clark and Kathy Lynn. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rickey Meals, Charles Cole, James Rodden, Jerry Steward, Justin Luman and Steve Adams. Survivors include her husband, Charles W. McClanahan; a son, Bruce McClanahan of Clarksville; 2 nieces, Reba Clark and Teresa White both of Bogata; 3 great nieces, Ashley White Varner, Kaimbri White and Maelee White; and 1 nephew, Jordan White.
