Obituary of Mary Alice Ballard

Mary Alice Ballard, age 85, of Blossom, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mary was born June 10, 1926, in Elk Creek, Iowa, to Harry and Mable Morley. She was a homemaker and loved her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Travis Ballard of 62 years and her son, Gerry Joe Ballard. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Shupp and Rev. James Brown Officiating. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Steve Sessum, Kelly Worthy, Jeff “Weezy” Morrison, David “Huck” Berry, Mark “The Governor” Walker and Gary Williams. Survivors include 2 sons, Travis Jimmy Ballard of Millageville, Georgia and Tony Lee Ballard and wife, Desiree of Paris; 2 daughters, Barbara Thompson and husband, Jack of Rockwall and Doris Dewese and husband, Will of Royce City; her sister, Ruthie Easton of Strawberry Point, Iowa; special friends, P.E. “Sonny” Thompson and wife, Ann and Billie Henry; 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with another great grandson on the way.
