Obituary of Lila Pearl Simmons
Lila Pearl Simmons, age 78, of the Cuthand Community, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Lila was retired from the Rivercrest Independent School District.
Lila was born September 13, 1933, in Mayfield to Arthur and Fronetta Bell Cannon. She married Bobby Gene Simmons on June 23, 1953, in Mayfield. She was a member of the Cuthand United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Perry Wynn Simmons; and a brother, Donnie Cannon.
Survivors include 3 sons, Tommy Lynn Simmons of Crockett, Terry Gene Simmons of Cuthand and Bobby Alan Simmons of Cuthand; 3 brothers, David Arthur Cannon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John Wayne Cannon of Nevada, Missouri and Roy Leon Cannon of Clarksville; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday night at the Cuthand United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Cuthand United Methodist Church with Rev. John Purviance officiating. Burial will follow in Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Matt Simmons, Ronald Gene Simmons, Alan Spann, Jared Huddleston, Rob Grogan and Tyler Greer.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Birchfield, Ronnie Price, Thomas Spann and William Roland.
