Obituary of Charles Ray McLendon

Charles Ray McLendon, age 68 of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Charles Ray was born September 24, 1943, in Dallas, the son of John and Billy Grace McLendon. He was known as Fatman by his beloved grandchildren. Charles Ray loved his family, his dog Kayla, the outdoors, farming and ranching. He was most happy hunting with his granchildren and spending time in his garden. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Colgrove officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Michael Todd Witmer, Boyd Harvey, Paul Allen, Riley Christophersen, Kolt Perkins and Desmond Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers are Ernest Witmer, Glenn Stewart, Jim Clark, J.P. Harvey, Billy Don Minter, Gilbert Terry, Ritchey Terry, Jamie Barham, Glenn Commons and Russell Jones. Survivors include his wife, Rita Harvey McLendon; two sons, Chuck McLendon and Mike Galvin; two daughters, Kim McLendon Galvin and Trich McLendon; a mother in law, Ruby Faye Harvey; six grandchildren, Orin McLendon, Cole Dodd, Shelby Galvin, Tanner Galvin, Ethan McLendon and Brody Moyer. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church at 1809 S. Donoho, Clarksville, Texas 75426 or the American Cancer Society.
