Obituary of Lev L. Lambert

Lev L. “Bunk” Lambert, age 71, of Maud, formerly of Avery, passed away, Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana. Bunk was born December 18, 1938, in McCurtain County, Oklahoma to Gilbert and Sudie Collvins Lambert. He was a member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to cook and especially enjoyed fishing with his special friend, Pete Lee. He belonged to the Avery Masonic Lodge #921 and served as secretary. On December 11, 1958, he married Maudie Steelman Lambert in Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Geraldine Lambert. He left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Maudie; two sons, Larry Lambert and wife Donna of Idabel, Oklahoma and Lynn Lambert and wife Sheri of Minden, Louisiana; grandchildren, Leann and Curt Cox, Lacie Lambert, Drew Nesbitt, and Lyndsi Lambert; great-grandchildren, Odie and Buckers; sisters, Betty Kernodle of Euless and Peggy Lowrance and husband Glen of Idabel, Oklahoma; brothers, Sammy Lambert and wife Mary of Avery and Deanie Lambert and wife Shirley of Avery; and special friends, Jane Wallace and Pete Lee both of Maud. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Deanie Lambert and Rev. Jason Dudley officiating. Avery Masonic Lodge #921 will conduct Masonic Rites in Lindeman Chapel following the funeral service. Burial will be at Pine Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers are Jason Lambert, Sammy Lowrance, Adam Lambert, Matt Lambert, Curtis Cox, Drew Nesbitt, Donald Kernodle and Donald Kernodle, Jr. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Avery Masonic Lodge, #921. Memorials may be made in Bunk’s name to the Pine Springs Cemetery Association.
