Obituary of Kent Cox

Kent Cox, age 26, formerly of Detroit, died December 31, 2011, as a result of a motorcycle accident, near College Station, Texas. Kent was born May 20, 1985, in Harris County to Kent Cox and Rhonda Newman Stripay. We have chosen to lay kent to rest in a Barn wood casket because his country soul would have wanted it that way, and we have chose to transport him in a bright, shiney red, four wheele drive truck because his rock’n roll heart would have wanted it that way. Kent lived life country large and rock hard and now his crazy wild humor and rebel heart are no longer confined by earthly restraints. He is survived by his parents, Rhonda Newman Stripay of Sugarland; his step-father, Robert Stripay, of Sugarland and his father Kent Cox of Sealy; the mother of his children, Brandie Cox; his son, Beau Cox; his daughter, Kenzie Cox; his brothers and sisters, Casey Stripay of San Antionio and Brandi Stripay, of Sugarland and Kyle and Taylor Cox both of Sealy; his grandparents, Jerry and Barbara McNabb of Detroit and Ronald Newman of Waco and Regina Stripay of Cleavland, Ohio and 6 cousins, Elizabeth, Laura, Jane, Anderson, Hayley and Ryan. Funeral services are set for January 4, 2011, 3:00 p.m. in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Franklin McNabb and Rev. Karl Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Double Bar A Ranch in Detroit under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service held in the Houston area at the Vineyard Church of Stafford on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. Pallbearers are: Bob Stripay, Casey Stripay, Kyle Cox, Paul Newman, Anderson Newman, Donnie Hendrix, Oscar Hendrix and Matt Burchnel.
