Obituary of L D Parks

L. D. Parks, age 87, of Avery, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, in East Texas Medical Center, Clarksville. Mr. Parks was born November 25, 1924, in Spur, Texas, to Delos and Maggie Horn Parks. He married Rose Medford on September 26, 1958. Mr. Parks was employed by General Motors Corporation. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Larry Dean Parks. Survivors include his wife, Rose Parks, Avery; two sons, Brian Parks, Avery and Paul Parks, Arlington; two daughters, Sandra Payne, Ft. Worth and Sheila Brannan, Cleburne; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, in the Avery United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Sterling officiating. Burial will follow in Lydia Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
