Obituary of Edward Ray Smith

Edward Ray Smith, age 80, of Detroit, passed from this earth Saturday, November 12 2011, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Smith was born August 16, 1931 in Detroit to Earnest and Evie Laderman Smith. He was retired from B and W in Paris, Texas. He married the former Betty Cavender on September 3, 1955. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Jeff Blanton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jackey Smith and a brother Leroy Smith. Mr. Smith was survived by his wife, Betty, of Detroit; two sons Ronnie Smith of Detroit and James Smith of Pittsburg; one brother, Paul Smith and wife Shirley of Blossom; three sisters, Jane Swif and husband Roy of Eastland, Anna Fay Clement and husband Jim of Abilene, and Juanita West Moreland and husband Dean of Wichita Falls; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a numerous nieces, nephews, sister’s in law, brother’s in law, cousins and friends.
