Obituary of Eulavee Hines

Eulavee Hines, age 73, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011, at her residence. Eulavee was born June 27, 1938, in Annona, Texas, to Arnold and Opal McGee. She was a retired office manager for Edward Jones and secretary for County Judge Gavin Watson. She married Billy Ray Hines on May 25, 1956, in Clarksville. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Whiteman’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Billy Ray; two sons, Paul and Tami Hines of Clarksville, and Jeffery Hines of Gresham, Oregon; two daughters, Kathy and Tom Quillin of Red Oak, and Karen and Jamie Pittman of Blossom; seven grandchildren, Heather Freeman, Sara Pylant, Molly Pylant, Skylar Hines, Gage Hines, Zachary, Vivian, and Charlie Hines; and two great grandchildren, Madison and Chase Freeman. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bruce Hines; and brothers, Donald McGee and Jimmy McGee. Eulavee worked for the Honorable Judge Gavin Watson, Jr. as his executive secretary from 1961 until her retirement from the county in 1977. Also, during her years with the county, she was the county budget analyst. In 1975 the late Mrs. Dolph Briscoe named Eulavee chairman of the First Lady Volunteer Program office with an executive order signed by Governor Dolph Briscoe. Mrs. Hines was also former co-chairman of the Red River County Fair Association for several years. Later in life Mrs. Hines went back to work for Edward Jones in Paris, Texas, as a branch office administrator. In 2007, Mrs. Hines was asked to become a partner in the firm. Eulavee had many hobbies including crafts, sewing, painting and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
