Obituary of Eva Howlett

Eva Kate “Kitty” Howlett, age 73, a loving wife, mother and Grammy of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center. Kitty was born in West Bowie, Sept. 19, 1935, to George and Soffie Walker. She married Eugene Howlett August 25, 1956. She served faithfully and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clarksville, Tx. She was a hairdresser for 27 years, an avid painter, and an amazing cook, but the true love of her life was her 7 grandchildren whom she adored. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Emily, and her brothers: LeeVoyd, Alford, and Wilburn Walker. Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Eugene Howlett of Clarksville, 2 sons: Doug and daughter-in-law Shannan Howlett of Detroit, Tx. and Steven and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Howlett of Rockville, Maryland; a brother, Bobby Joe Walker of Daingerfield, Tx., a sister Ruth Stevens of Natchitoches, La, 7 grandchildren: Abigail, Samuel, Kaitlyn, Adam, Rebecca, Allison and Sarah, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at First Baptist Church, 501 S. Walnut in Clarksville, with Bro. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial follows at Woodmen Cemetery in DeKalb under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Her pallbearers include: Allen Bean, James Daniell, Darald Kuhlengel, Brandon Kuhlengel, Blaine Puckett, and Don Eudy. Honorary pallbearers: Deacons of the First Baptist Church.
