Obituary of Allie Aikin

Allie Aikin, age 92, of Avery, passed away, Sunday, October 09, 2011, at Regency Nursing Center. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Dink Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Garland Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Billy Jones, Tim Shimpock, Larry Emery, Bobby Warthan, Jeremy Gross and J.L. O’Neal. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Aikin was born August 26, 1919, in Annona to Charles Robert and Clara Cherry Holloway. She was a homemaker, a great cook, loved her family, gardening and taking care of others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. L.J. Akin, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors are a step son, Charles Aikin and several nieces and nephews.
