Obituary of John Carroll Mitchell

John Carroll Mitchell, age 95, of the Albion Community, passed away, Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Mitchell was born in Red River County on October 23, 1915, to Louis B. and Julie Ann Blackwell Mitchell. He was a hard working man and loved farming and carpentry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edwina Mitchell a son, James Louis Mitchell and a great granddaughter. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Kellam officiating. Burial will follow in Albion Cemtery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Mike Harvill, Doug Mitchell, Jason Troxell, Ronnie Jarrett, John Davis and Gage Stokes. Survivors include 1 son, Vernon Mitchell of Maine; 3 daughters, Elizabeth Phelps and husband Jerry of Clarksville, Joyce Lee and husband Jimmy of Clarksville, and Joan Johnson of the Albion Community; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 9 great- great grandchilden.
