Obituary of Helen Summers

Helen Stringer Summers, age 85, of Clarksville, passed away, Tuesday, June 07, 2011, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Summers was born January 3, 1926, in Red River County to Frank and Dora Cagle Stringer, Sr. She retired from Campbell Soup Company and was a member of the New Haven Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Summers, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the New Haven Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnathan Simons and Rev. James Hinkle officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 8 at the church. Pallbearers are John Ross Mitchell, Freddie Rodriguez, Steven Stringer, Jodie Cain, Johnny Boyd and Frank Faulker. Survivors include her son, Jimmy R. Summers of Clarksville; her living animals, Sadie and Persilla; her sister, Zelma Askins; her sister-in-law, Inez Stringer; several nieces and nephews.
