Obituary of Theda Webb Minter

Theda Lorene Minter, age 82, of Avery, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, from complications of pneumonia. She was born on March 3, 1929 in Avery, Texas, the only child of Eloise Webb and Thelma Connell. Theda married Harold Lee Minter on June 9, 1945. She was a devoted wife and mother and a homemaker. She loved to garden, sew, crochet and spend time with her family and friends. Theda was a member of the Avery Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Avery Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roddy Jackson and Rev. Harold Churchill officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday night at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Gary Minter, Benjamin Minter, Shawn Minter, William Wiese, Greg Childress and Daniel Dean. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Harold Edward Minter and wife Patricia of Texarkana, Texas, Cathy McCullar and husband Woody of Duncanville, Texas and Connie Jesseph and husband Tom of Meridian, Texas; grandchildren, Shawn Minter, Gary Minter, Billy Wiese, Greg Childress and Cathleen Dean; great grandchildren, Ben Minter, Valerie Minter and Coy Dean; a cousin, Keary Jean Anderson of Kilgore, Texas and a number of other relatives and friends. Theda will be remembered as a great mother, wife, “Mimi” and friend who loved life and her Lord. A special thanks to her caregivers, Mary Ross, Joni DeLoach and Johnetta Mathews, as well as the wonderful nurses of the Respiratory Care Unit at St. Michael in Texarkana.
