Obituary of Opal N. O'Neal

Opal N. O’Neal, age 85, of Annona, passed away, Saturday, May 07, 2011, at Regency Healthcare Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. O’Neal was born July 8, 1925, in Scotsboro, Alabama to W.M. and Nora Dunn Tidwell. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Annona. Her husband, Johnnie O’Neal and a daughter, Ida Nell Shelton preceded her in death. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Annona with Rev. Jimmy Woodard and Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Wade White, Johnny Boyd, Mark Megason, Jay Smith, Tim Shimpock and Rickey Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers are Dub McGregor, Glenn Stewart, Harold McLeroy, J.P. Harvey, Sonny Terry, Leon Blake, A.B. Baird, Hubbard McDuffie and Barry Peek. The family and friends Visitation will be Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include four sons, Bobby O’Neal of Annona, J.L. O’Neal and wife Betty of Annona, Gary O’Neal of Mt. Pleasant and Larry O’Neal and wife Pam of Cunningham; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a son in law, Kenneth Shelton of Detroit. Memorials may be sent to the Boxelder Cemetery Association at 11864 FM 909, Bogata, Texas 75417.
