Obituary of Audrey Lee Monkhouse

Audrey Lee Ervin Monkhouse, age 87, of the Hopewell Community in Red River County, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mrs. Monkhouse was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Monkhouse was born December 18, 1923, in Red River County to Bill and Estie Hunkapillar Ervin. She was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Monkhouse; a son, Jimmy Monkhouse; and a grandson, Gerry Eddins. Graveside services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at the Hopewell Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Kellam officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include one son, Doyle and Melissa Monkhouse of the Hopewell Community; three daughters, Wanda Monkhouse of Clarksville, Brenda Buck and husband Bill of Reno and June Monkhouse of Dallas; her grandchildren, Tim Eddins and Sonya of Clarksville, Perry Eddins and wife Jan of Dallas, Nathan Eddins and wife Karen of Dallas, Kay Fryar and husband Richard of Dallas, Kelly Tisdale of Dallas, Shawntai Monkhouse of Dallas, Carla Parker and husband Kevin of McKinney, John Monkhouse of New York and Christy Jones and husband Michael of Paris; her great grandchildren, Johnny Eddins, Clint Eddins, Gary Eddins, Brandy Fryar, Chase Tisdale, Joshua Monkhouse, Joseph Parker, Brittany Frazier and Bailee Woodby, Macy Woodby, Madisyn Whitfield, Lucas Robertson and Alivia Robertson; two great great grandchildren, Abby Eddins and Jayden Chessire. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Randal Bishop, Olen Douglas, Steven Stringer, Raymond Long, Mike Harville, Larry Nolan, Sammy Faulker and Bubba Stringer.
