Obituary of Cecil Bryan

Cecil Bryan, age 86 of Clarksville, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Bryan was the original owner of Tracy’s Café in Clarksville. He served in the Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart, and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Bryan was a RSVP Volunteer at both nursing homes in Clarksville and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was born March 31, 1923 in Elkhart to Lee and Naomi Turner Bryan. His 1st wife, Ruby Bryan and 1 sister preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Bryan of Paris; son, Bobby Bryan and wife D’Anne of Clarksville; daughter, Donnie Hines of Phoenix, Airzonia; sister, Essie Wardell of Houston; brother, Larry Bryan of Columbus; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m Thursday, June 11, 2009 in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bill Whiteman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Royce Abbott, Roy Maye, Billy Mitchell, Johnny Johnson, Mike Durham and Robert Guinn. Honorary Pallbearers are Gilbert Terry, M.A. Duren, Dub Risinger, Glen Roberts, Glen Mitchell, Sonny Walston, Rev. James Brown and Charles Malone.
