Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Love

Mary Elizabeth Love passed away on January 18, 2010. Born in Clarksville on May 7, 1921 to parents Oscar and Eunice Glenn, Mary E. lived an active life for 88 years. After graduating from Clarksville High School in 1937, she worked for the AAA office three years, and then got a job at the County Clerk’s office where she continued to work for ten years. In 1953, Mary E. began work for Pat C. Beadle and Fidelity Life and, except for a brief year and a half working at the Piggly Wiggly office, she worked for Pat Beadle for seventeen years. During this time, she also became a licensed real estate salesperson, then a broker, working for Red River Valley Realty Company. When her daughters, Debbie and Lisa, graduated from high school, Mary E. went to work for the Clarksville Independent School District as an aide, as well as establishing her own company, Red River Real Estate. In 1987 she retired from the school district, but did not retire from working. She continued to own and operate Red River Real Estate through 2009. Mary E. and her husband, Maurice, enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Europe. Ireland was a place they especially enjoyed, which developed into their strong interest in Irish history and a love for Irish music. Mary E. is survived by a sister, Jerry, in Cache Oklahoma; her two daughters, Debbie Dawson of Dallas, Texas and Lisa Love of Bonham, Texas; and two grandsons, Byron Joseph Dawson and James Texas Dawson of Dallas, Texas. A joint memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home for Mary Elizabeth and her husband, Maurice. He passed away on June 10, 2009 and they wished to have his service held until her death so they could have a joint memorial service. As both Maurice and Mary E. were avid animal lovers, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made via The Red River Bank in their memory. Funds will be donated to a no-kill animal rescue organization.
