Obituary of Larry Joe Conway

Larry Joe “PaPa Joe” Conway, age 72, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at his residence.  Larry Joe was born, September 5, 1946, in Clarksville to Joe Thomas “J.T” and Margaret Gray Conway. He was a member of the Sherry Baptist Church and preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Cody Cyle Conway.   Larry Joe graduated from Clarksville High School in 1965 where he was a well-recognized all-around athlete.   His passion was farming on Brewster Prairie and took great pride in giving advice to area farmers.  Larry Joe was also a former Land Manager for the Lennox Foundation and enjoyed watching his kids and grandchildren play sports.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy and loved fishing, hunting and even philosophizing with them.  If you knew Larry Joe, he loved talking to people and always had a tackle box handy. 

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don “Dink” Benton officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends and hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jasper Conway, Gus Conway, Brett Conway, Brad Gann, Easton Silman and Garrett Tabb.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bruce Silman, Tommy Cooper, David Cooper, Zach Cooper, Jeff Conway, Colton Tabb, Dylan Simmons, Lee Moody, Daniel Moody, Joe Nolan Conway.

Survivors include two sons, Scotty Joe Conway and wife, Dawn of Maud and Casey Conway and wife, Susan of the Maple Community; one daughter, Mandy Conway of Clarksville; two sisters, Linda Conway Silman and husband, Billy Jack of Cooper and Karen Conway Kelley and husband, Ed of Katy; two brothers, Jerry Conway and wife, Sharon of Clarksville and Bobby Conway and wife, Teresa of Clarksville, grandchildren, Lee Moody, Callie Gann, Daniel Moody, Brett Conway, Joe Nolan Conway, Colton Tabb, Garrett Tabb, Jasper Conway, Gus Conway, Dylan Simmons, Shawnee Conway, Sheyenne Whitaker, Katie Conway and Cassidy Johnson; great grandchildren, Emerson Gann, Gentry Gann, Lillian Whitaker, Mace Whitaker, Wylie King and Jensen Dodd.
