Obituary of Anthony Lynn Phelps

Anthony Lynn Phelps, age 58, of Avery, passed away, Friday, March 22, 2019, at his residence.   Anthony was born, March 13, 1961, in Amarillo to Frankie Lee “Sonny” and Wilma Butler Phelps.  He was employed with the Red River Army Depot and was of the Methodist faith.  Anthony enjoyed hunting, especially squirrel hunting with his father.  Spoiling his dogs was another past time of Anthony’s.  His father; and nephew, Blake Christophersen preceded him in death. 

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at the Avery United Methodist Church with Rev. Deanie Lambert and Rev. James Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Stanley Hawkins, John Holloway, Jimmy Chapman, Kenneth Chapman, Danny Wester, Mike Kelsoe, Walter Little,Trent Kelsoe and Jeff Hembree.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Phelps of Avery; his daughter, Ashley Kelsoe and Jacob of Clarksville; his son, Brandon Phelps and Melissa of Avery; his mother, Wilma Phelps of Avery; step daughters, Deborah Pinkham of New Boston and Dyane Arnn of Southlake; his sister, Rhonda Christophersen and Shannon of Clarksville, his brothers, Alan Phelps and wife, Judy of Alabama and Greg Phelps of Avery; his grandchildren, Haden, Zane, Weston, Jacob, Kasey, Andrew, Madeline, Gabrielle, Ethan, Lucus, Tyler and Dakota; nieces and nephews, Matthew, Sara, BlakeLee and Chase.
