Obituary of Sue Townes Giddens

Linda Sue Townes Giddens, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Heritage House in Paris.  Sue was 75 years old.  She was born, October 27, 1943, in the Fulbright Community of Red River County to John E. and Dorothy Cremeens Townes.  Sue was a member of the Ramseur Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gary Townes; and two sisters- in- law, Elaine Townes and Alice Faye Giddens Collins.  She married Jim Giddens on August 19, 1960 in Clarksville.

 

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. John Brown, Rev. Don Morton and Rick Jordan officiating.  Burial will follow in Stones Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

 

Pallbearers are her grandson, Wesley Giddens, her grandsons-in-law, Colter Dollins and Bradley Ramsey, her nephews, Michael Townes, Charlie Townes, Gary Townes, Jr., Johnny McGuire and Cole Phelps.

 

Honorary Pallbearers are Danny McIntire, Jackie Townes, Larry Townes and John Giddens

 

Survivors include her husband, Jim Giddens of Reno; two daughters, Laura Giddens Jordan and husband, Rick of Reno and Cheryl Giddens Hall and husband, Dean of Huntsville; one son, James Giddens and wife, Cathy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sisters, Barbara Townes Gibbs of Bogata and Annette Townes Brown and husband, Clifton of Blossom; one brother, Gerald Townes of Clarksville; grandchildren, Lacey, Ragan, Wesley, Deena, Shelby and John; and great grandchildren, Addison, Ava, Landon, Aubree, Wyatt, Roslyn, Pierce and one on the way.
