Obituary of Travis Willard Cox

Travis Willard Cox, age 80, of Purdon and formerly of Avery, passed away, Monday, January 14, 2019, at his residence.  Willard was born, April 30, 1938, in Avery to Jess Willard and Pernie Jackson Cox. He was a former Executive Vice President of Oil City Iron Works in Corsicana for forty nine years.  Willard loved being in the outdoors and was of the Baptist faith.

Graveside services are set for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019, in Avery Cemetery with Rev. James Evans officiating.  Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Gipson Cox of the home; two daughters, Debbie Smith of Austin and Cindy Penney of Corsicana; two step-sons, Brian Bass of Canton and Barry Bass of Waxahachie; a sister, Sheri DeWitt of Paris; grandchildren, Russell, Dustin, Wes, Jordan, Bailey, Janna, Jessica and Julie; and great grandchild, Levi.
