Obituary of Odel Phelps

Mrs. Neva Odel Phelps, age 95, of Sandersville, formerly of Avery, died on Tuesday morning November 13, 2018 at Heritage Inn Nursing Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Phelps was a native of Avery, the daughter of the late Frank Bellotte, and the late Ocie Chapman Bellotte.  She was the wife of the late Damon Odell Phelps, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joe Evelyn Phelps Hawkins. Mrs. Phelps was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

A visitation for Mrs. Phelps will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at May and Smith Funeral Home with a service at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Cliff Hancock will facilitate the service. 

Funeral Services are set for 1:00p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Steven Phelps, Lance Koth, Tom Polomine, Robert Roudebush, Marvin Burkett and Ken Simms.

Honorary Pallbearers are Edwin Kelsoe and Gerald Rust.  

Survivors are: a son, Johnny Frank Phelps and his wife Annie of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Sharon Phelps Smith and her husband Wallace of Sandersville; six grandchildren, Chance Clinton Hancock, Charles Clifton Hancock, Carol Roudebush, Steven Phelps, Shirley Polomine and Sally Koth; and  twelve great grandchildren.
