Obituary of Jesse Holster

Jesse “Jake” Holster, age 91, of Mesquite, formerly of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010, in Town East Nursing and Rehab in Mesquite. Mr. Holster was born January 1, 1919, in Red River County to Jesse James and Minnie Mable Petty Holster. He was in Agriculture Sales and a Hay Broker for many years. He was a member and co-founder of the Southwest Cowboy Poetry Association and a member of the Eastside Church of Christ. He married Grace Wright on July 28, 1940 in Clarksville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bert Holster and two sisters, Edna Ainsworth and Exie King. Survivors include his wife, Grace Wright Holster of Mesquite; a daughter, Marion Holster of Mesquite; and a brother, Bill Holster of Garland. Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010, in Whiteman’s Chapel Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
