Obituary of Jo Goode

Jolace Ferrell Goode passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Jolace was born May 19, 1929 at Jackson Chapel near Ben Franklin to J.B. and Esther Mae Bartlett Burrow. She worked for General Telephone and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for many years. She loved traveling the western United States and the west coast including San Francisco. She especially loved Reno, Nevada and Lake Tahoe, both places in which she lived as a young woman. She savored the beauty of Lake Tahoe, “The fairest picture the whole world affords”…Mark Twain 1861, where she worked in the late 1940’s for General Telephone. Jolace married “the sweetheart of her life” James Ross Goode in Texarkana, Arkansas at College Hill Methodist Church on January 27, 1952. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; baby brother, Jerry Burrow; and son, Michael R. (Rickey) Goode. She is survived by her husband, James Ross Goode of Clarksville; daughter and son in law, Debra and David Floyd of Powderly; grandchildren, Susan Floyd of Austin, Jenni Oliveira and husband Joe of Ceres, California and Michael R. Goode, Jr. of Marathon, Florida; great grandchildren, Whitney Oliveira, Kyra Oliveira and Tristan Oliveria of Ceres, California; brothers in law and sisters in law, Carroll and Linda Goode of Reno; Dr. Robert and Carolyn Goode of Franklin, Tennessee; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Goode of Tillimook, Oregon and sister in law Darlene Goode of Abilene; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Private Family Interment will follow in Madras Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Babe Higgins, Steve Champe, Darald Kuhlengel, Don Eudy, Gerald Robertson, Roy Thrasher and the members of the Believers Sunday School Class. If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made the the First Baptist Church, 501 S.
